After the 2021 season, the rivalry between the Oregon Ducks and Washington Huskies was in flux. The Ducks had won a hilarious victory over Jimmy Lake and the Dawgs, and Lake was fired not long after. But Oregon fans couldn’t boast as much as they might have liked because their own program was also in disarray.
Both teams ended up looking for new head coaches.
Going into the 2022 season, there was a hope the rivalry could be renewed with Dan Lanning and Kalen DeBoer at the helm. Those wishes have been granted.
Oregon ranks as the No. 6 team (CFP rankings) in the nation, with an inside chance at making the College Football Playoff if it wins the rest of the games on the schedule. Washington is back in the top 25 — ranked No. 23 — following a win over the previously ranked Oregon State Beavers last weekend.
Oregon-Washington is now a ranked affair.
While both teams are among the best couple of dozen teams in the nation, bettors seem to think that there is still a good distance between the two in skill level.
Take a look at how the betting line opened as the Ducks prepare to host Washington in Lanning’s first Husky Hate Week.

Ducks Wire Expert Composite Prediction
There is a difference of opinions about how this game is going to be played on Saturday, according to the Ducks Wire staff. Both Zachary Neel and Don Smalley think Oregon is going to win, but by how much is up for debate.
Neel is predicting a lower-scoring, clock-management game for Oregon that utilizes the rushing attack and keeps the ball away from Washington’s offense. Smalley sees another blowout for the Ducks, with a ninth straight 40-point game in Eugene.
Ducks Wire Composite Prediction: Oregon 36, Washington 22
