After an investigation into an Aug. 9, incident, in which the driver was allegedly drunk while transporting students, the driver was arrested.
SALEM, Ore. — A school bus driver for Salem-Keizer Public Schools According to a Salem Police Department press release, the suspect was arrested on Thursday for driving while impaired while operating a schoolbus.
Police say Katy Anne Fowler (42) is facing 15 counts of reckless ending and one count each for driving under the influence, reckless driving, and criminal mischief.
Salem Police Traffic Team investigated an Aug. 9 incident in the Salem Police Department where Fowler was allegedly drunk while transporting students.

Police said that 15 students were involved in the incident, which occurred on two different bus routes. It happened between 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Fowler was also allegedly involved, police claimed, in a collision where the bus struck a guardrail. It happened while Fowler was driving the bus between two routes.

Parents, students and other community members may have seen the bus operated by Fowler. They are asked to contact the traffic team at 503-588-6172. Police stated that further inquiries regarding the investigation would be directed to Marion County District Attorney’s Office.
The school district has not publicly commented on the arrest. KGW reached out the district for comment. We will update this story if we get back.
